Somewhere Studio is an independent film company based in Milan. Founded in 2015, it connects photography, graphics, and video. With an open approach, the company collaborates with authors and professionals from different backgrounds, bridged by a rigorous approach. It has grown pursuing both its own research and working on editorial and commissioned projects.

Directors
Somewhere Studio supports the work of Alberto Gottardo and Francesca Sironi, a duo of documentary directors and independent producers. They work together since 2015, following a common research on contemporary vanishing points. Alberto’s background is in photography - he studied at the City University of New York and at the master in Photography of the CFP Bauer in Milan, where he's now lecturer; Francesca’s in journalism - she's been writing for years on the weekly magazine L’Espresso, signing dozens of cover stories, and writing a book on domestic violence. As authors, they move together through documentaries, reportages, non-fiction developement and on-field visual research. In 2020 they win the Solinas prize for best Documentary for Theatrical release
